What is Hospice?

Hospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on improving the quality of life for terminally ill patients and supporting their families through end-of-life issues.

Our primary goal is to provide comfort, dignity, and compassionate support when curative treatments are no longer effective or desired.

Routine visits

Regularly scheduled visits from a team of professionals — including nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and physicians — who work together to monitor the patient’s condition, adjust the care plan, and provide continuous support to the family.

On-call medical support 24/7

Hospice nurses and clinicians are available by phone or in person at any time of the day or night to respond to urgent changes, answer questions, and prevent unnecessary hospital visits.

Physician-directed and supervised services

All hospice care is overseen by licensed physicians who evaluate the patient’s medical needs, authorize treatments, and guide the clinical team to ensure care is safe, ethical, and aligned with the patient’s goals.

Professional pain and symptom management

Specialized hospice staff use evidence-based methods to control pain, nausea, anxiety, breathing difficulties, and other symptoms so the patient can remain comfortable and maintain dignity throughout care.

Medications, medical equipment, and supplies

Hospice provides and delivers all medications related to the terminal diagnosis, along with necessary equipment and supplies — such as hospital beds, oxygen, wheelchairs, wound care, and comfort aids — directly to the patient’s home or facility.

Emotional, spiritual, and crisis counseling

Trained counselors, social workers, and chaplains support both the patient and their loved ones through grief, fear, stress, and end-of-life decisions, offering coping strategies and compassionate guidance during difficult moments.
